Many people have trusted friends, relatives or neighbours to pitch in and help. MWH offers an alternate option. How much is peace-of-mind worth to you and your loved ones? House checking can be a viable alternative to house sitting, cat sitting, dog sitting, or finding a reliable neighbour at the last minute.

HOUSE CHECKING TASKS:

MWH services may include a combination of:

  • Basic house checking: walkabouts (inside and out), alarm system disabling/enabling,  checking/locking doors, checking/locking windows, flipping light switches on/off  *
  • Collecting: mail, newspapers, parcels, bottled water, etc.  *
  • Pet care: feeding, water bowl refilling, dog walking, litter box refreshing, play dates  *
  • Plant care: watering plants (inside and out), light gardening, light lawn mowing  *
  • Checking on or visiting (live-in) family members (residing on-site or in care homes)  *
  • Checking on or visiting temporary residents (such as a home exchange program)  *
  • Light housecleaning: dusting, tidying, garbage disposal, washing/waxing floors
  • Home organization: room organizing, file system creation, filing, storage locker inventory

CLIENT CONSIDERATIONS:

  • You determine weekly drop-in frequency…giving you control over your total investment.
  • A (first) consultation with MWH will be scheduled well in advance of your departure date.
  • Soon after initial consultation you will be given a ‘chore list’ for editing or confirming.
  • MWH has a standard practice of asking you for an emergency contact list.
  • Please let us know your preferred method of (emergency) contact during your absence: phone/email/texting?
